Transportation of Dangerous Goods: New Rules for 2025. What You Need to Know

Starting in 2025, Ukraine will update its requirements for transporting dangerous goods by road to comply with EU standards. We’ll explain what businesses need to know to protect themselves from hefty fines.

New Standards and Permits

The law requires the use of new UN registration plates and special packaging for goods such as chemicals and batteries. Carriers are required to obtain permits confirming vehicle compliance with safety standards and driver certification for transporting dangerous goods.

Important: Failure to comply will result in fines of up to UAH 50,000.

Drivers are required to be certified for the transportation of dangerous goods (ADR). Starting in 2025, training will become more stringent, with an emphasis on environmental standards and emergency procedures.

Tip: Check your driver’s certificates against the 2024 model!

The new regulations require electronic documents for customs, including certificates of conformity.
